The federal state of Encamp
The province of Encamp is located in the east of Andorra and borders France as well as the provinces of Canillo, La Massana, Andorra la Vella and Escaldes-Engordany. With an area of around 74 km², Encamp is medium-sized, but with around 13,000 inhabitants, it is one of the more populous regions of Andorra. The province lies in the middle of the eastern Pyrenees and is characterized by a high alpine landscape. The Pic dels Pessons mountain range forms the highest massif in Encamp. The Valira d'Orient river flows through the valley and joins the main Valira river at Escaldes.
