Castello San Marino

The municipality of San Marino - one of the nine Castelli - is also the capital and, with around 4,100 inhabitants, the fifth smallest capital in Europe. Like all other municipalities in the Republic, the capital also has its own administration, consisting of an elected Capitano di Castello and the Giunta di Castello, who are re-elected every five years.
The historic center of the Cittá di San Marino is located on the summit ridge of Monte Titan. Motorized traffic is severely restricted, and visitors can easily reach the old town by cable car from Borgo Maggiore, by public bus or by escalators and elevators from the parking lots at the foot of the mountain. The old town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, surrounded by three medieval towers (Guaita, Cesta, Montale), which are connected by the picturesque "Path of the Witches" (Passo delle Streghe).
The webcams in San Marino offer you a first glimpse of the dwarf state and provide an authentic picture of the historic city and the rolling hills in the surrounding area. Is the sun shining or are there clouds in the sky over San Marino? The live cams will show you!
